The source language is the one you dream in. For most of us this is the one we grew up speaking. The target language is what you're learning. Chatting with the AI is 100% in the target language to help you grow accustom to the sounds and rhythm. Don't worry, you can throw in English words to keep the convo going. AI will help supply the missing words.
Lite Mode kicks in when you run out of credit. In this mode, translation and pronunciation all takes place in your browser. So you can still translate new words and study your cards. But the Chat won't be available until you add more credit.
Download higher-quality voices for free! On Mac: Settings > Accessibility > Read and Speak > System Voice. On PC: Settings > Time and Language > Speech > Add a natural voice. Natural voices sound much better!
